What is the meaning / definition of Glostel?
The term Glostel is a portmanteau combining the words “Glamourous” and “Hostel”.
Glostels, is a marketing term used to describe more chic and fashionable hostels, which stand out from their competitors due to their strong focus on art and fashion, while still catering to a similar budget as hostels. Furthermore, Glostels also offer shared accommodation and a more social atmosphere, whereby they differentiate from boutique hotels.
